Hyde United Update - It´s Good News...

October 1st 2009

We just received this from Tom Fern, who´s been helping raise money to save Hyde United...

Ramblers,

Brilliant, brilliant news, probably best explained by a short statement from our board:

"Earlier this afternoon at The High Court in London, Hyde United Football Club successfully rescinded the winding up order made against them last Wednesday.

The board of directors, players, management and supporters would like to thank anyone who made a donation, however large or small, as without people wanting this club to move forward, we would not be here right now."

So, after technically not having a football club to support for a week, we have a game on Saturday away to Farsley Celtic, and then hopefully on Monday we´ll be playing the FA Cup tie that we couldn´t play on Saturday due to the fact that we didn´t actually exist - at home to Salford City.

We´re not completely safe yet - we have about another £60,000 to pay off to creditors, but although we´ll be kicking on to raise that money, it´s not as urgent as raising the £35k in the space of a week as has been the case this past 7 days.

Thanks again for your help - I´ve no idea if any Ramble listeners donated, but the website hits certainly went right up after you whacked us on your Twitter and your Facebook, and we simply wouldn´t have survived without the exposure and help we´ve had from outside of the club and the town. So cheers.

Tom

It´s absolutely heartwarming. As you can see they still need to raise some cash so if you´re feeling generous you can donate at www.eyeonthetigers.co.uk

Hooooo!
